We want to absolutely flip the industry on it’s head and ensure every little package and venture and brand is good for the Earth. Planet positivity for the planet! But for now we’re happy to be improving the design world we love for the real world we love. Making our practice better, is better than nothing. Being honest and open about our progress is important to us, we’ll be sharing impact stats and data along the way, both the good results and the less so, promising to be clearly transparent. One thing we won’t be sharing is the scary climate stories, please keep yourself upto-date elsewhere, but give your eco-anxiety a break and soothe it with our action-not-doom content. PhewphLet’s be real, single-use plastic was never “good” design. To create something that lasts 500 years when only used for a few minutes is utterly nutterly insane, and has been the norm for too long. We stubbornly stand by using no single-use virgin plastics in our projects. We believe that the new standard of packaging design should focus more on how we dispose of the materials in the end of it’s life. Let’s design to disappear, prioritizing a designs afterlife over it’s shelf-life. Using easily recycled/compostable/re-usable materials is key.  Almost lastly, this is a zero greenwashing zone, which means no misleading claims about the climate-friendliness of brands or products or materials and so on. This also means we want to solely work with people who can really promise they are doing their thing while being as good as they can to the Earth. Oh and while we’re talking about green, please don’t expect to see any eco cliches; let’s leave the leaves out of it. Planet-positive design does not need to look like it belongs in a 90s health food shop. Obviously everyone at Undo-Undo-Undo feel so strongly about our planet it was a no brainer for us to be there in support of the planet. It was amazing to see such a turnout from students and workers of Sheffield making David proud. Personal highlights from the team include talks from Shawna X, Gilles De Brock, Selam X, Six N Five, Helen Kirkum and more, washed down with whiskey and gingers and capped off with a dance under the worlds biggest disco ball. It’s a refreshing and laid back way to soak up some inspiration and meet other designers and makers.
